ATHENS, Ga. --- The sixth-ranked Georgia gymnastics team returns to Stegeman Coliseum to host the No. 24 Arkansas Razorbacks on Friday, February 1 at 6:45 p.m.
This marks the third-straight week the GymDogs will be live on the SEC Network's Friday Night Heights.
ALUMNI NIGHT
Friday will serve as alumni night for the Georgia gymnastics program. Approximately 50 former GymDogs will be in attendance at the meet with the 1989, 1999, and 2009 National Championship teams being recognized after the first rotation.
SERIES HISTORY
Georgia leads the all-time series against Arkansas by a 33-4-1 tally. The teams met three times during the 2018 season, including a regular season met in Fayetteville, the SEC Championship, and NCAA Semifinals. The GymDogs finished ahead of the Razorbacks in the NCAA Semifinal with a score of 196.6875- 196.4250.
SABRINA VEGA HITS NEW MARKS AT AUBURN
Junior Sabrina Vega led the GymDogs at Auburn, posting a 9.9 on vault and a pair of 9.925's on beam and floor. She set a season high on vault and beam, while matching her season best on floor.
She was the first GymDog to win a beam title on the road since Ashlyn Broussard scored a 9.9 at the NCAA Regional in 2017.
SYDNEY SNEAD'S CAREER NIGHT
Sydney Snead had a career night against Alabama, earning her highest score in the all-around with a 39.600 after earning a 9.900 on vault, 9.800 on bars, and two 9.925's on beam and floor. Her beam score matches her career high and her bars, beam and floor scores were her best of the season.
HITTING A 197.000
Georgia was the fifth school to record a 197.000 so far this season. They GymDogs hit that mark in week four against Iowa State in Athens.
