ATHENS, Ga. – Fifth-ranked Georgia extended its winning streak to 11 games with an 8-4 win over High Point Tuesday at Foley Field.

• After drilling a two-run walk-off home run this past Sunday against Florida Gulf Coast, junior Ryan Black (3-for-4, 2 RBI) smacked a home run to start the bottom of the first. Then, Slate Alford (2-for-5, 3 RBI) followed with a solo shot as Georgia took a 2-1 lead. It was the fourth home run for each Bulldog.
• Georgia matched its longest winning streak since 2014 (11 games) with Tuesday's victory.
• Eight pitchers saw action on a staff afternoon with junior DJ Radtke (2-0) picking up the victory. He came on in the second inning with two runners in scoring position of a 2-1 contest and registered a strikeout. He pitched 1.1 innings.
• Sophomore Tre Phelps (2-for-5) extended his hitting streak to nine games while graduate Christian Adams and junior Kolby Branch both went 2-for-3 with an RBI as part of a 14-hit attack.
• Junior Matthew Hoskins provided two scoreless frames with two strikeouts.

"We're getting to that point now where we're getting some good swings. We've got a good, solid approach on what we're trying to do with the starter. Obviously, Ryan Black with a home run to start the game and Slate (Alford) getting another one right after that. That's what our offense is capable of doing against certain teams. We play matchups a ton, and I get asked a lot why I play so many games so early. It takes a while to figure out who can play against who. You need to see it play out, and when it happens, It's fun to watch."

On pitching today
"We had some guys come in and make some pitches. We were trying to do some things, six games in six days, we'll wrap up tomorrow. When you have that many games in a row, we were able to take guys like Leighton Finley, and instead of him throwing a bullpen this week, he got his bullpen out here in an inning, and it was worth the work. We did the same with Kolten Smith and Brian Zeldin. I thought DJ Radtke came in an settled some things down too."

That is in hitting or pitching, and it is being able to believe from inning one to inning nine.
