Key Quotes
Ike Cousins Head Baseball Coach Wes Johnson
On the team battling through six games in six days…
"You knew today was going to be a grind. We were going to have to bring some guys back early and get to some other guys who hadn't been out in a while. I had already told our coaching staff, hey, if we are out of here before 8 o'clock, I am going to be fired up. I had that feeling when the first pitch was thrown and tip your hat to JT Quinn. He got us off to a really good start. It got rough in the top of the third, but Davis Chastain settled it back down. We got a lot of guys out there. I have been telling people, we needed a little reset."
On the upcoming weekend series
"I want us to play clean baseball. We are doing it at times, in spurts for games for four to five innings, and then we won't play clean. When you get into our league, you are not giving up a nine spot and winning a lot of baseball games. We have to clean that up. At the same time, this is what happens at the end of six games in six days."
Kolby Branch | Jr. | SS
On the team's hitting today and overcoming a nine-run inning…
"We're doing well. It was a weird game. We scored in every single inning except for a couple. We kept piling it on, never stopped, and never quit after that long inning they had so I was proud of us. We just have a positive attitude about everything. We're never out of the fight. We've come back too many times now, and we're just going to win the ball game no matter what."
