No. 22 Georgia opens the home stretch of the SEC season with a massive matchup against No. 6 Arkansas Friday evening at Turner Soccer Complex. The Bulldogs are looking to break a three-match winless streak, although they have earned two results at home against Florida and LSU. Friday's match is the first ranked-on-ranked SEC home fixture for Georgia since the No. 23 Bulldogs hosted No. 11 Florida on Oct. 18, 2009. Georgia is looking for its first win over a top-10 team at home since besting Texas A&M, 2-1, on Sept. 27, 2015.
Â
Georgia and Arkansas have faced off three times in the past two seasons, highlighted by the Bulldogs' 1-0 victory over the Razorbacks in the 2023 SEC Tournament final. Last season, the sides met in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals, playing 82 minutes of scoreless action before Anaiyah Robinson's score broke the tie. Although Georgia leads the overall series, 13-7-5, Arkansas has won three of the previous four meetings. The Bulldogs' last regular season win in the series was a 3-1 victory on Sept. 13, 2018, in Athens.
Â
Tie-ger Town
Georgia played to its second-consecutive home draw Sunday evening with a 1-1 result against LSU. The match was a defensive struggle throughout, with the teams only combining for three shots on goal. In the 75th minute, Kiera Staude put the Bulldogs on the board with her sixth goal of the season, assisted by teammate Ayda Pannell. The lead proved to short-lived as the Tigers equalized on an own goal three minutes later. The Bulldogs took another blow in the final minutes as freshman defender Maddy Herniter received her second yellow card and was sent off, resulting in a suspension for Friday's match.
Â
Second Half Surges
Georgia's offense has repeatedly come up clutch late in matches, with 17 of its 30 goals taking place in the second half of matches. Kiera Staude's 75th-minute strike against LSU marked the Bulldogs' seventh second-half goal in conference play. Additionally, seven of Georgia's second-half scores have occurred in the final 20 minutes of play, as did Staude's on Sunday.
Â
Still Summertime in Athens
Redshirt junior midfielder Summer Denigan is in the midst of one of the greatest individual seasons in Georgia history. Through 14 matches, Denigan, who was named to the MAC Hermann Midseason Watch List this week, has tallied nine goals (ranked 14th nationally and first in the SEC) and an assist, while also ranking seventh nationally with four match-winning goals. In the Georgia record books, Denigan ranks fifth in winners with 10 in her career. Her converted penalty against Florida made her the 12th Bulldog to tally 20 career goals, while a 10th would make her the first player since Mollie Belisle to have double-digit scores in a season. With nine goals, she has already matched Margie Detrizio's team lead from last season.

- The 2025 Bulldogs are one of only four teams in program history to record only one or fewer losses in their first six matches of SEC play. The 2007 team began its campaign with a 5-0-1 mark, while the 2010 and 2014 teams started 3-0-3 and 4-1-1 respectively.
- Georgia-Texas A&M marks the third Friday fixture of the season, a night that has proven to be advantageous for the Bulldogs. Under McAlpine, the Bulldogs are 9-1-1 in Friday matches, with last season's 3-2 loss to Colorado in the NCAA First Round serving as the lone blemish.
- Freshman forward Ava Stack is currently camping with the Mexican U-17 national team in preparation for the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup, beginning October 17 in Morocco.
- With one more assist, Cate Hardin would become the first Bulldog with five or more assists in conference play since Randi-Lynn Bruso and Kelly Whitaker in 2006.
- Georgia has posted two five-match unbeaten streaks this season, joining the 2022 campaign as the only seasons in program history with two separate five-plus stretches.
