Track Wraps Up Outdoor Opener With Seven More Top Collegiate Finishes

ATLANTA --- The Bulldogs track and field teams recorded another seven top collegiate finishes to conclude the Yellow Jacket Invitational Saturday.
 
Leah Anderson (women's triple jump), the Georgia women's 4x100-meter relay team, Zoe Pollock (women's 400m hurdles), Caleb Cavanaugh (men's 400m), Charlotte Augenstein (women's 800m), Clay Pender (men's 800m) and Christopher Morales Williams (men's 200m) all left Atlanta by finishing first out of their collegiate competition.
 
The Lowdown: Georgia managed a 1-2 finish in the 400m hurdles with the second and third-fastest times in school history.  Zoe Pollock was the gold medal finisher after completing her lap in 57.38 and just .01 behind her was Dominique Mustin (57.39) for second.  The Lady Bulldog teammates now sit third and fourth nationally after their performances.
 
First-year jumper Leah Anderson worked up to a personal record of 12.37 meters/40 feet, 7 inches on her fourth attempt in the triple jump to grab top honors.
 
Kaila Jackson, Autumn Wilson, Aaliyah Butler and Kenondra Davis combined to win the 4x100m relay with a 44.93, which ranks in the country's top 10 this season.  This marked the first action for Jackson and Wilson since each earned First Team All-America honors in the 60m and the 200m at the NCAA Indoor Championships last weekend.
 
Lady Bulldog Charlotte Augenstein beat the field by more than three seconds in the 800m with a personal record 2:08.65 give deliver UGA yet another victory.  One race later, Clay Pender won the men's 800m by half a second with a 1:51.07.
 
A leg on Georgia's runner-up 4x400m relay team at this year's NCAA Indoor Championships, Christopher Morales Williams is now 1-for-1 in collegiate races after taking first in the 200m with a 21.22.
 
Another career best came from graduate transfer Julia Harisay during her second season with the Lady Bulldogs.  She shot from 10th to seventh in the school record books with a fourth try in the discus that measured 49.75m/163-2.  This earned Harisay a fifth-place finish.
 
Also of note, freshman heptathlete Ella Rush earned third-place honors in the high jump after clearing 1.68m/5-6 on her second try and Haley Tate clocked a 55.61 for third in the 400m.  In the men's race, Caleb Cavanaugh also returned from scoring at indoor Nationals and was the runner-up in the men's 400m with a 47.42.
 
Up Next: Georgia has its second outdoor meet of the year next weekend at the Raleigh Relays in North Carolina.  This will be a three-day meet for the Bulldogs.
