STILLWATER, Okla. --- The No. 5 University of Georgia equestrian team fell to No. 7 Oklahoma State University, 11-8, on Saturday afternoon.
Senior Ceci Bresch collected a Most Outstanding Performance honor for her score of 77 in Flat.
"Well today wasn't exactly how we planned it or how we wanted it to go. I am proud of the fight that continued throughout the day and I am proud of the hard work that these ladies are putting in," Georgia head coach Meghan Boenig said. "Unfortunately, this shows there are some places we need to continue to close the gap and be ready to compete on the road. I am looking forward to putting in the learning from this week into our next road test and getting back to it. I am proud of our MOP and I'm proud of how close we kept a lot those scores. This could have easily gone some other way. We had some uncontrollable that we controlled to the best of our ability. We are just going to keep building on it.
The Bulldogs began the meet against the Cowgirls Saturday morning with Reining and Fences.
Georgia secured two points in Fences. Senior Rachel McMullen took the first point for Georgia with her score of 65 against her opponent's 36. Freshman Tessa Brown secured the next point, outscoring her opponent 82-81.
The Cowgirls took a 3-1 advantage in Reining. Fifth-year Courtney Blumer put the Bulldogs on the board, defeating her opponent 68-0. Shelby Lynch tied with her opponent Tristan Bagby with a score of 70 to end the first half.
