Wenzel Finishes Second on Platform at Georgia Invite

ATHENS, Ga. – Led by junior Meghan Wenzel's second-place finish on platform, the University of Georgia diving team continued competition at the Georgia Diving Invitational Wednesday afternoon at Gabrielsen Natatorium.
Wenzel placed second in the platform final with a score of 268.85, her highest score in the event since posting a 275.35 in the 2022 SEC Championships preliminary round. Opening with a 52.50 on her first dive, she later scored a 62.40 on her third dive and concluded with a 55.10. Minnesota's Viviana Del ángel won the platform title with a final score of 354.10.
In prelims, freshman Hannah Stumpf nearly reached the finals with a 14th-place score of 205.85, while fellow freshman Kyler Dixon placed 32nd at 172.70.
In the men's 3-meter springboard final, sophomore Nolan Lewis placed eighth with a score of 309.10, scoring a 60.00 on two of his six dives. In prelims, Lewis also finished eighth with a mark of 326.15. Sophomores Allen Mann (304.95) and Rhett Hopkins (294.15) finished 16th and 19th respectively, while graduate Kevin Li placed 23rd at 266.15.
The Georgia Diving Invitational concludes Thursday with the men's platform and women's 1-meter events. Competition begins at 11 a.m. at Gabrielsen Natatorium. The meet is not being streamed, but live results are available on DiveMeets.com.
