Track & Field Heads To FSU, Raleigh Relays

ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia's track and field teams split up this weekend traveling to Tallahassee, Fla., for the FSU Relays and Raleigh, N.C., for the Raleigh Relays, which both start on Thursday.
 
The Bulldogs are taking 13 team members to Florida State's campus for the Friday-Saturday meet while nine of Georgia's student-athletes are slated to make the trip to N.C. State for its three-day meet.
 
When Do The Dogs Start: A number of Bulldogs will take the Mike Long Track on Thursday, beginning with freshman Eddiyah Frye in the women's long jump at 5 p.m.  The men will start with seniors Elija Godwin and Delano Dunkley and juniors Caleb Cavanaugh and Curtis Borden in the 200-meter dash at 7:15 p.m.
 
The Georgia men will begin competition at the Paul Derr Track starting on Thursday with junior Clay Pender running in the 1500m at 4:45 p.m.  Senior Anna Marian Block and sophomore Charlotte Augenstein start the action for the Lady Bulldogs at 4:25 p.m. on Friday in the 1500m.
 
What Dogs Are Competing: For the FSU Relays joining those mentioned above, graduate transfer Jayla Kirkland, seniors Imani Carothers, Destiny Jackson, Halle McClintock, junior Brandee Presley and freshmen Kenondra Davis and Bella Witt are traveling for the women.  Junior Matthew Boling will complete the men's contingent.
 
In addition to those already mentioned, the Bulldogs set to compete at the Raleigh Relays include juniors Sam Bowers, Wesley John, sophomore Chase Condra and freshmen Noah Hayes, Seth White and Karthik Kochuparambil.
 
Glimpse At Where This Season Will Take The Dogs: This pair of meets mark the second of five scheduled regular season outdoor meets over five weekends, including the fifth-annual Torrin Lawrence Memorial (April 29-30) in Athens on the Spec Towns Track.  
 
The Southeastern Conference Championships will arrive on May 12-14 in Oxford, Miss., with the NCAA East Prelims scheduled for May 25-28 in Bloomington, Ind.  The 2022 NCAA Championships are in Eugene, Ore., on June 8-11.
