Athens, Ga. – The No. 3 Georgia Women's Tennis team defeated No. 35 South Carolina 4-0 earning their fourth conference sweep this season improving to 9-1 overall and 5-0 in SEC play.
Graduate Elena Christofi would ultimately clinch the match for the Bulldogs defeating Lindsay Tulenko 6-4, 6-1 on court six racing sophomore Lea Ma who was also close to clinching the match going unfinished on court two against No. 30 Megan Davies 6-3, 5-4.
The rest of singles was played out with No. 73 Morgan Coppoc defeating Allie Gretowski 6-1, 6-4 on court four to pick up her seventh dual match win of the season. No. 60 Meg Kowalski extended her streak to 19-straight singles dual match wins after defeating Siliva Chinellato 6-2, 6-3 on court three. No. 16 Katarina Jokic and No. 50 Marta Gonzalez also went unfinished on courts one and five, respectively.
In doubles, the duo of Kowalski and Ma defeated Chinellato and Mills 6-4 on court three while Jokic and Ariana Arseneault secured their third top-50 victory, defeating No. 29 Mia Horvit and Davies 7-5 on court one.
The Bulldogs will begin a series of road matches, beginning with LSU in Baton Rouge, La. on Friday, March 12 at 6 p.m.
