ATHENS, Ga.— The third-ranked University of Georgia equestrian team is set to continue Southeastern Conference play against the No. 1 Auburn Tigers in Bishop, Ga., on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 1:00 p.m.
The Bulldogs hold an overall 4-3 record and are 1-3 in the SEC. Georgia heads into Saturday's meet after narrowly falling to No. 5 Texas A&M in raw score decision, 9-9 (1539.5-1519), last Saturday in College Station, Texas. Senior Ali Tritschler highlighted the meet with Most Outstanding Performance honors for her Fences ride.
The Tigers come to Bishop undefeated with a 9-0 record and 3-0 in SEC competition. Auburn's Taylor St. Jacques (Fences) and Taylor Searles (Horsemanship) earned National Collegiate Equestrian Association January Rider of the Month honors.
The teams last met in dual-meet competition on Nov. 15, 2019, in Auburn, Ala., Georgia falling 16-4.
Georgia takes competition back on the road in Columbia, S.C., to face No. 4 South Carolina on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 1:00 p.m.
