No. 5 Georgia Faces No. 3 South Carolina in Columbia

ATHENS, Ga. – The fifth-ranked University of Georgia equestrian team is set to travel to Columbia, S.C., on Saturday to face No. 3 South Carolina for a Southeastern Conference competition. 
 
The Bulldogs lost to No. 1, undefeated Auburn University, 12-8, this past Saturday. Senior-standout, Maddy Darst earned Most Outstanding Performance (MOP) honors for her Fences rides. This marked Darst's third time achieving a score of 90 and tenth time she has earned MOP honors for her Fences ride as a Bulldog.
 
The Gamecocks hold an overall 5-4 record, and are 2-2  in SEC play. USC defeated then-No. 5 Texas A&M in a raw score decision, 10-10 (1421.5-1358) on its home arena. Two riders earned monthly honors, junior Tyler Petrie tabbed SEC Flat Rider of the Month for January and senior Farley Wickre was January's recipient of the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Standout Athlete of the Month award.
 
The Bulldogs bring competition back to Bishop, Ga., to host a tri-meet contest. Georgia will face Delaware State on Friday, Feb. 28, at 1 p.m. to then take on Tennessee at Martin on Saturday, Feb. 29, at 10 a.m. Georgia will host a neutral matchup between the Hornets and Skyhawks following the conclusion of Saturday morning's competition.
