A Look Back
Georgia bounced back from a sweep by Alabama to shutout rival Georgia Tech Wednesday evening at Jack Turner Stadium. Mary Wilson Avant pitched a one-hit shutout of the Yellow Jackets. Georgia pushed seven runs across the plate, highlighted by the first career grand slam by Ciara Bryan. With the win, Georgia won its 12th-straight game over Tech and head coach Lu Harris-Champer recorded career win number 1,100.

Georgia in the Polls
The Bulldogs dropped to #16 in the week 10 USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll while falling to #22 in the USA Softball/ESPN.com Poll.

DiCarlo Draft #4 Pick by Chicago Bandits
Shortstop Alyssa DiCarlo was drafted by the Chicago Bandits in the NPF Draft on Apr. 15. DiCarlo was taken as the fourth-overall pick of the 2019 NPF Draft. DiCarlo becomes the 14th player drafted out of Georgia in the history of the NPF Draft. 2019 is the fourth-straight year a Bulldog has been chosen in the draft and the sixth in that span. The Bandits have drafted three players from Georgia in the history of the draft, the first being Megan Wiggins in 2011. DiCarlo will join Georgia assistant coach Rachele Fico on the Bandits along with former Bulldog Kristyn Sandberg.

Coaching Milestones
Lu Harris-Champer won her 1,100th career game on Apr. 17 against Georgia Tech. Harris-Champer ranks fourth among active coaches in the SEC behind Ralph and Karen Weekly (1,384; 1,106) and Jo Evans (1,217).

Harris-Champer's 100th career win came at Georgia Tech on Mar. 27, 1999. 20 years later, win 1,100 was against the Yellow Jackets.

A win this weekend would be her 300th SEC win. 300 conference wins ranks behind Alabama's Patrick Murphy who recorded SEC win number 400 earlier this season.

Fincher Named to Schutt Sports/NFCA Freshman of the Year Top 25 List
Lacey Fincher was named one of 25 to the Schutt Sports/NFCA Freshman of the Year list. Fincher, a native of Tanner Williams, Alabama, is the first Bulldog to appear on the list since Cortni Emanuel in 2015. She is one of four from the SEC, the league with the most finalists on the list. In the field, Fincher has started the majority of games at first base while seeing time at shortstop, in the outfield, and even behind the plate.

DiCarlo Continues to Topple Career Records
In the Mar. 10 game against Western Illinois at Jack Turner Stadium, Alyssa DiCarlo became Georgia's new all-time home runs leader. She hit two home runs in the game to tie then break the record with home runs 58 and 59.

In the first inning at Auburn (Mar. 29), DiCarlo doubled down the left field line to plate CJ Landrum, recording career RBI 237 and breaking Georgia's all-time career RBI record.

The extra-base hits record fell in the series finale against Texas A&M (Apr. 7) with a two-run home run in the first inning. It was career extra-base hit 122 (53 doubles, 4 triples, 65 home runs).

The Fastest to 20 Home Runs
With a first-inning home run against Texas A&M on Apr. 7, Alyssa DiCarlo became the fastest Bulldog to hit 20 home runs, doing it in 41 games. Alisa Goler held the previous mark, doing it in 47 games in 2009. Only five Bulldogs have topped the 20-home run mark. DiCarlo joins Alex Hugo as the only Bulldogs to do it twice. DiCarlo had 21 last season.

In the Mar. 6 game at Georgia Tech, DiCarlo hit her 10th home run of the season. She reached the 10-home run mark in 21 games, tying Goler to the fastest Bulldog to 10 home runs in a season (2009).

Bryan Carries a Hot Bat
Junior Ciara Bryan hit a home run in four-straight games (Mar. 24-30). She became the first Bulldog to accomplish that feat since Alex Hugo did it in 2014. Bryan hit her first career grand slam against Georgia Tech on Apr. 18.

Clutch Freshman
Freshman Savana Sikes has propelled to second on the team with 44 RBI in her rookie season. The Douglasville native has hit two grand slams this season.

Walk It Out
Averaging 0.93 walks per game, Lacey Fincher ranks eighth nationally and third in the SEC. Alyssa DiCarlo ranks behind Fincher with 0.89 walks per game, ranking 10th in the nation and fourth in the league. Speaking in terms of freshman, Kristyn Sandberg holds the most by a freshman, drawing 52 in 2012.

Bulldogs Offense Nationally
Georgia currently ranks among the nation's best in scoring (15th, 6.6 runs per game), 13th in slugging percentage (.547) and 20th in on base percentage (.408). Additionally, the Bulldogs rank ninth with 1.42 home runs per game. Individually, Alyssa DiCarlo is fourth in the nation in home runs (20) and fifth in total bases (124) along with being third in slugging (1.025) and 11th in RBI (50).

DiCarlo Leads Active Career Leaders in, Home Runs, RBI, and Total Bases
Senior Alyssa DiCarlo leads active Division I softball student-athletes with 65 home runs, 244 RBI, and 517 total bases. In additional categories, she ranks fourth in doubles (53).

A Triple Threat
Junior Ciara Bryan has 13 triples in her career as a Bulldog. That number ranks fourth at Georgia. Among active career Division I players, that figure ranks 11th.
