Hammonds Signs with Bulldogs for 2027 Season

July 06, 2026 | Softball

ATHENS, Ga. – Transfer outfielder Kylie Hammonds signed with the Bulldogs for the 2027 campaign, Georgia head coach Tony Baldwin announced on Monday.

Hammonds, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, has spent the last four seasons at Florida Atlantic University. As a redshirt junior this past season, she was the only Owl to start all 54 games and posted a .373 average with 60 hits, 51 runs, nine doubles, one triple, nine homers and 26 RBI. Hammonds led the team in hits, home runs, total bases (98) and on-base percentage (.492).

Across her career, Hammonds owns a .361 average with 138 hits and 69 RBI. She's started every game in the last two campaigns, as well. Her career accolades include consecutive AAC First Team All-Conference inclusions in 2025 and 2026, as well as consecutive CSC Academic All-District Team honors following those campaigns. She's twice been named an AAC All-Conference Honorable Mention and closes her career at Florida Atlantic as the program's all-time leader in hit-by-pitches (34).

Baldwin on Hammonds' signing: "We are excited to welcome Kylie to Athens. She is a competitor, a worker, and an overall great fit for our program. With the graduation of a few key offensive performers from last year's team, we are excited to see who steps into those roles for Team 31. We fully expect Kylie to be right in the middle of that group and looking forward to her being in the Red and Black."

Georgia finished the 2026 season with a 41-20 record while reaching a fourth-straight NCAA Super Regional. In addition to Hammonds' signing, the 2027 roster features 16 returners and five incoming freshmen.
