BULLDOGS BULLETIN
Series History
» Georgia trails the all-time series with Alabama 20-41.
» In Tuscaloosa, Georgia is 7-22 all time. Georgia will look to win its first series in Tuscaloosa this weekend.
» The last series in Tuscaloosa (2016) went to Alabama, 2-1. Georgia won the finale of that series.
» Georgia won the series a season ago in Athens; the first series win over the Tide since 2005.
A Look Back
Georgia won its second-consecutive SEC series over the weekend in Athens, defeating Texas A&M. The Bulldogs powered past the Aggies in the opener 11-5 then clinched the series in game two 4-3. Georgia looked to sweep the Aggies, holding a 3-2 lead through five innings on Sunday, but a three-run sixth pushed Texas A&M ahead to salvage a game, 5-3.
Georgia in the Polls
The Bulldogs dropped a spot to #13 in the week nine USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll while falling to #19 in the USA Softball/ESPN.com Poll.
Coaching Milestones
With a win this weekend, Lu Harris-Champer could record her 1,100th-career victory as a head coach. A win would also be her 300th SEC win. 300 conference wins ranks behind Alabama's Patrick Murphy who recorded SEC win number 400 earlier this season.
With 1,099 wins, Harris-Champer ranks fourth among active coaches in the SEC behind Ralph and Karen Weekly (1,380; 1,102) and Jo Evans (1,217).
DiCarlo Continues to Topple Career Records
In the Mar. 10 game against Western Illinois at Jack Turner Stadium, Alyssa DiCarlo became Georgia's new all-time home runs leader. She hit two home runs in the game to tie then break the record with home runs 58 and 59.
In the first inning at Auburn (Mar. 29), DiCarlo doubled down the left field line to plate CJ Landrum, recording career RBI 237 and breaking Georgia's all-time career RBI record.
The extra-base hits record fell in the series finale against Texas A&M (Apr. 7) with a two-run home run in the first inning. It was career extra-base hit 122 (53 doubles, 4 triples, 65 home runs).
The Fastest to 20 Home Runs
With a first-inning home run against Texas A&M on Apr. 7, Alyssa DiCarlo became the fastest Bulldog to hit 20 home runs, doing it in 41 games. Alisa Goler held the previous mark, doing it in 47 games in 2009. Only five Bulldogs have topped the 20-home run mark. DiCarlo joins Alex Hugo as the only Bulldogs to do it twice. DiCarlo had 21 last season.
In the Mar. 6 game at Georgia Tech, DiCarlo hit her 10th home run of the season. She reached the 10-home run mark in 21 games, tying Goler to the fastest Bulldog to 10 home runs in a season (2009).
Bryan Carries a Hot Bat
Junior Ciara Bryan hit a home run in four-straight games (Mar. 24-30). She became the first Bulldog to accomplish that feat since Alex Hugo did it in 2014.
Clutch Freshman
Freshman Savana Sikes has propelled to second on the team with 43 RBI in her rookie season. Sikes' 43 RBI stands as the most by a freshman in the NCAA and 20th overall. The Douglasville native has hit two grand slams this season.
Walk It Out
Averaging 0.98 walks per game, Alyssa DiCarlo and Lacey Fincher rank third in the country. That figure ranks second in the SEC. Each have drawn 40 walks this season. Speaking in terms of freshman, Kristyn Sandberg holds the most by a freshman, drawing 52 in 2012.
Avant Nearly Secures No-Hitter at Auburn
In the second game at Auburn on Mar. 30, junior Mary Wilson Avant carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning. She lost her bid with one out left, surrendering an inside-the-park home run. It could have been the first no-hitter of an SEC opponent since 2009 (at Arkansas).
I Volunteer as Tribute
Freshman Savana Sikes is currently tied for 16th in the country with four sacrifice flies in her rookie season. That figure ranks second in the SEC.
Bulldogs Offense Nationally

Individually, Alyssa DiCarlo is second in the nation in home runs (20) and leads in total bases (120) along with being first in slugging (1.091) and 10th in RBI (49).

Senior Alyssa DiCarlo leads active Division I softball student-athletes with 65 home runs, 243 RBI, and 513 total bases. In additional categories, she ranks third in doubles (53).
