#12/15 Georgia softball welcomes the #8/6 LSU Tigers to Athens for the Southeastern Conference home opener. The three-game series will begin Friday at 6 p.m. at Jack Turner Stadium.

Series History
» Georgia trails the all-time series to LSU 25-38
» In Athens, the Bulldogs hold the advantage in the series, 14-12. 
» Georgia has lost four-straight to the Tigers, being swept in Baton Rouge in 2017 and dropping a meeting in the Women's College World Series in 2016. 
» The last series in Athens was in 2016. Georgia dropped the series, falling in games one and two but winning game three, 3-1. 
» LSU has won eight of the last nine meetings; prior to, Georgia won 11 of the previous 12. 
 
A Look Back
The Bulldogs wrapped up a busy stretch with four games last week. Georgia dropped a 3-1 decision to North Carolina at home Wednesday evening. Savana Sikes avoided the shutout with a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh. Georgia opened SEC play at Missouri over the weekend. The Bulldogs recorded the 1,000th victory in program history with a 1-0 win to open the series. Georgia then fell in the next two games to drop the SEC opening series to the Tigers. 
 
Georgia in the Polls
The Bulldogs dropped four spots to #12 in the week six USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll while falling all the way to #15 in the USA Softball/ESPN.com Poll. 
 
Coaching Connection
Georgia assistant coach Rachele Fico will face off against her former team this weekend. While at LSU, Fico was a two-time NFCA First Team All-American, three-time NFCA All-South Region First Team member, and three-time All-SEC honoree. Fico still holds the record for most strikeouts in a game, tallying 22 against Mississippi State on Mar. 8, 2013. 
 
1,000-Win Club
With its 1-0 shutout of Missouri on Mar. 15, Georgia softball recorded the 1,000th victory in program history. Georgia became only the fifth Division I program competing since 1996 or later to reach the 1,000-win mark. That group includes SEC programs Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, and LSU. 
 
DiCarlo Crushes All-Time Home Runs Record
In the Mar. 10 game against Western Illinois at Jack Turner Stadium, Alyssa DiCarlo became Georgia's new all-time home runs leader, breaking the record of 58 set by Alisa Goler (2008-11). She hit two home runs in the game to tie then break the record with home runs 58 and 59. 
 
Clutch Freshman
Freshman Savana Sikes has propelled to co-lead the team with 38 RBI in her rookie season. Sikes knocked in six runs including a grand slam against Western Illinois (3/11). She's second on the team with seven home runs in her rookie campaign. 
 
You Shall Not Pass! 
With a 9.2 strikeout-to-walk ratio, Kylie Bass ranks fifth in the country in the category. Her 0.83 walks allowed per seven innings also ranks among the best in the NCAA at 10th. 
 
Top ERA in the League
Georgia's 1.67 team leads the league this point in the season. That figure also ranks 10th in the country. Sophomore Lauren Mathis' 0.95 ERA comes in at second in the league behind Montana Fouts from Alabama and ninth in NCAA.
 
Walk It Out
Averaging 0.97 walks per game, freshman Lacey Fincher ranks fourth in the country, second in the SEC. Behind her is senior Alyssa DiCarlo with 0.90 walks per game, ranking third in the conference and eighth in the nation. 
 
I Volunteer as Tribute
Freshman Savana Sikes is currently tied for fifth in the country with four sacrifice flies in her rookie season. That figure leads the SEC. 
 
Bulldogs Smash
Georgia currently ranks among the nation's best in scoring (fourth, 7.61 runs per game) and ninth in slugging percentage (.591) and 11th in on base percentage (.425). Additionally, the Bulldogs rank eighth with 1.48 home runs per game. Individually, Alyssa DiCarlo leads the nation in home runs (16) along with being second in slugging (1.159) and sixth in RBI (38). 
 
DiCarlo Leads Active Career Leaders in RBI and Total Bases
Senior Alyssa DiCarlo leads active Division I softball student-athletes with 232 career RBI and 488 total bases. In additional categories, she ranks second in home runs (61) and third in doubles (50). 
 
A Triple Threat
Junior Ciara Bryan has 13 triples in her career as a Bulldog. That number ranks fourth at Georgia. Among active career Division I players, that figure ranks seventh. 
 
The Sprint to 10 Home Runs
In the Mar. 6 game at Georgia Tech, Alyssa DiCarlo hit her 10th home run of the season. She reached the 10-home run plateau in 21 games, tying Alisa Goler to the fastest Bulldog to 10 home runs in a season (2009).
