Georgia Welcomes No. 4 Texas A&M and No. 6 SMU for Competition Friday and Saturday

ATHENS, Ga. – The second-ranked University of Georgia equestrian team will host two top-10 teams, No. 4 Texas A&M and No. 6 Southern Methodist University (SMU), this Friday and Saturday at the UGA Equestrian Complex in Bishop, Ga.
The Aggies of Texas A&M hold an overall 1-1 record after traveling to Fresno, Calif., to have two back-to-back meets. Texas A&M defeated No. 7 Texas Christian University (TCU), 11-4, to then fall to Texas A&M, 11-9. Texas A&M claimed two of the four events, Horsemanship and Flat, before losing in Reining to hand the win to the Bulldogs.
The Mustangs started the season defeating No. 6 Baylor University 14-5. The following weekend, SMU fell to No. 6 TCU to tie up their record, 1-1.
Georgia opened their season facing the sixth ranked Gamecocks, defeating South Carolina 14-5. Three Bulldogs earned Most Outstanding Performance (MOP) honors, seniors Maddy Darst (Fences) and Maddie Fiorante (Horsemanship) and junior Jordan Carpenter (Reining) for their rides.
