Georgia Travels to Missouri to Begin SEC Action

ATHENS, Ga.--- Georgia soccer (4-3-1) is set to begin Southeastern Conference action on Friday, September 15 as the team travels to Columbia, Missouri to take on the Missouri Tigers (3-4-1).

The match is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. ET and will air on SEC Network +.

The Bulldogs are coming off a historic win against Coastal Carolina. Not only was it the first time the teams faced each other in program history, but it was the first time two Bulldogs had a hat trick in the same game. Freshman Mollie Belisle and Kelsey Killean led the Bulldogs to a 9-1 victory over the Chanticleers with four and three goals, respectively. Additionally, nine goals are the second most scored in Georgia soccer history and the most during the Billy Lesesne era.

All eleven freshmen on the Georgia roster have seen playing time so far this season.

After a four-game losing streak, the Tigers bounced back to defeat San Diego State, 2-1, at home on Sunday, Sept. 10.Â

Missouri returns eight starters from the 2016 team that qualified for the program's seventh NCAA Tournament appearance and went 11-7-2 overall and 6-4-1 in Southeastern Conference action.

Mizzou was picked to finish fourth in the Southeastern Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll
by the league's 14 head coaches, but currently sits four spots below Georgia at 14th heading into conference play.Â
