Eric Roddy joined the Bulldog staff as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2020-21 season. The Bulldogs posted a 23-2 record and final national ranking of No. 4 after reaching the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championship. Georgia claimed the Southeastern Conference regular season and SEC Tournament titles, going undefeated in league play.
Roddy graduated from Sewanee: the University of the South in 2016 where he was a four-year member of the tennis team. He saw action primarily at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles for the Tigers. During his senior season, Roddy teamed up with Jack Gray to win the ITA South Regional doubles title to earn All-America honors. They advanced to the finals of the ITA Small College Nationals tournament in South Carolina. The duo were ranked as high as No. 2 nationally in Division III for doubles, and notched wins over Top 50 ranked Division I MTSU and UTC.
Roddy has taught English in A Coruña, Spain, and worked for Cumberland Trust and Investment Company in Nashville prior to starting his MBA in the Terry College of Businessl. From 2017-2018, he served as the interim head men’s tennis coach at Swarthmore College, where he helped the Garnet achieve a Division III national ranking of number 16.
Currently, Roddy works for Pro Football Network as an editor in their analytics department. He attended the 2019 NFL Draft and 2020 NFL Combine as a credentialed media member. Â
