ATLANTA — Georgia track & field kicks off the outdoor season with a day trip to Georgia Tech's Yellow Jacket Invitational at the George C. Griffin Track & Field Facility on Friday afternoon.

The Georgia Bulldog women are fresh off their second consecutive national championship, first indoors. Head Coach Caryl Smith-Gilbert collects her fourth national title, second since her arrival in Athens. Smith-Gilbert's tally of four combined national titles now ranks her fifth among women's track and field coaches.

This weekend marks the 10th consecutive year the Bulldogs have opened the outdoor season at the Yellow Jacket Invite.

The small distance squad comprised of graduate transfer Collette Lowengrub and freshmen Erin Musty, Lauren Skeens, Maeve Waddell and Elise Wooddell will kick off the outdoor season for the Bulldogs. The five Lady Bulldogs runners are all entered in the women's 5000 meter race that kicks off at 7:30 pm ET.
