Recapping the Last Meet
Georgia posted a 197.650 on Saturday, Feb. 14 at the Metroplex Challenge, defeating No. 20 Cal (196.875), No. 10 Stanford (196.400), and Air Force (195.750). Georgia's team score of 197.650 narrowly missed tying a season high (197.675), but was Georgia's highest score away from Athens this season. The GymDogs posted a season high 49.475 on bars to end the meet. Csenge Bácskay and Lily Smith shared the event title, each scoring a 9.950. The mark was a new career high for Bácskay, and her first event win of the season, and tied a season high for Smith. Nyla Aquino and Ady Wahl shared a four-way tie for the vault title with scores of 9.925, which were season highs for both GymDogs. Kelise Woolford won the outright beam title with a 9.950, a season best. Smith won her seventh floor title in as many meets, scoring a 9.975.

GymDogs in the Rankings
The GymDogs check in at No. 6 in the country in the Week 7 Road to Nationals rankings with a 197.290 team National Qualifying Score (NQS). Georgia ranks second on floor (49.490 NQS), fifth on vault (49.290 NQS), sixth on bars (49.335 NQS), and 10th on beam (49.270 NQS). Georgia ranks in the top 10 in every events for the first time since Week 12 (March 24) in 2014 (vault: 6, bars: 1, beam: 6, floor: 10). Individually, four GymDogs appear in the top 10: Lily Smith (2nd, floor; 3rd bars), Nyla Aquino (8th, vault), and CaMarah Williams (4th, floor).

Smith Captures SEC Specialist of the Week Honors
Lily Smith has been named the SEC Specialist of the Week on Feb. 17. The award is Smith's first SEC Specialist of the Week award in her career. She was a five-time Freshman of the Week in 2024. The highlight of Smith's meet at Metroplex came on floor, where she anchored the lineup with a 9.975 to win the event title. The junior has recorded scores of 9.950 or higher on floor in all seven of Georgia's meets this season. Saturday's routine marked Smith's 14th career score of 9.950 or better on the event. Smith also captured the bars title with a 9.950 to match her season high, leading the GymDogs to a season-best 49.475 on the apparatus. Smith added a 9.925 on beam to open the meet, placing second individually.

The Sky's the Limit on the Floor
The GymDogs rank second on the floor exercise with a 49.490 NQS. Georgia has 18 scores of 9.900 or better in the event this season. Lily Smith ranks second nationally with an NQS of 9.960 and has won the event in every meet, while CaMarah Williams ranks fourth (9.920 NQS).

Aquino Provides Consistency in Vault, Floor Lineups
Sophomore Nyla Aquino has competed on vault and floor in all seven of Georgia's meets. She tallied eight scores of 9.900 or better (4 vault, 4 floor). She's already equaled that total from last season when she had two on vault and six on floor. Aquino currently ranks eighth nationally on vault (9.885 NQS) and 15th on floor (9.895 NQS).

Scott Setting the Bar(s) High
Senior Ja' Free Scott is pacing the GymDogs on bars this season, ranking 20th nationally with a 9.871 season average. She's tied for the team lead four scores of 9.990 or better, all coming in the last six meets.

Williams Clicking Early
Despite just arriving on campus in December, freshman CaMarah Williams is already a huge contributor to the GymDog lineup. She's scored a 9.900 or better in five of seven floor routines, has improved week-to-week on vault, and owns two 9.900s and 9.950 in four beam routines. The Kansas City native holds five event titles to her name this season, three of which were won in the meet against Auburn on Feb. 1, and ranks fourth on floor with a 9.920 NQS. She's has the second-most scores of 9.900 or better on the team with 10.
