Dawgs Take Down Yellow Jackets
The Georgia Bulldogs defeated No. 23 Georgia Tech in Atlanta on Sept. 19 in a five-set thriller. It was the second-straight time Georgia has beaten a ranked Georgia Tech in Atlanta. It was a team effort as Bianna Muoneke and Estelle Haugen each picked up double-doubles. Adriana Rhoda and Kendal Kemp each tallied season-highs in kills and Tori Harper and Chloe Elarton recorded season highs at the service line.
Â
Lim Has Breakout Performance
Redshirt-sophomore libero Makena Lim had a breakout performance against Presbyterian on Sept. 12. She put up a career-high 24 digs, the first 20-dig match of her career. It was two digs shy of tying the three-set digs record of 26 and is now tied for second-most all-time in a three-set match at Georgia. Along with her 24 digs, Lim posted the first double-double of her career, dishing out 12 assists. She is the first libero in the Tom Black era to record a double-double.
Â
Harper Named SEC Defensive Player of the Week
Redshirt-junior Tori Harper was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 8. after averaging 2.10 blocks per set in the Classic City Clash. She tied a career-high eight blocks in back-to-back matches against Texas Tech and Duke. Additionally, she served up a career-best three aces against Texas Tech.
