ATHENS, Ga. – The 16th-ranked Georgia Bulldogs dropped a midweek game to the Mercer Bears, 5-2, on Wednesday at Jack Turner Stadium.
 
Georgia is now 25-11 on the season.
 
FAST FACTS
  • Dallis Goodnight and Sarah Gordon each had two hits in the game, combining for four of Georgia's six hits. Jaydyn Goodwin and Gordon drove in both of Georgia's runs.
  • Rachel Gibson suffered the loss in her start. She pitched one and a third innings, allowing three runs on two hits. She walked three and struck out two.
  • Lilli Backes and Randi Roelling each pitched in relief on Wednesday.
  • This is Mercer's second-ever win over the Bulldogs in the series. The other was on April 20, 2018 in Athens.

Georgia will host the fourth-ranked Texas A&M Aggies at Jack Turner Stadium this weekend in a three-game series. The series will open on Saturday at 5 p.m. airing live on ESPN2.
