No. 1 Bulldogs Earn Fifth Top 10 Victory, Sweep No. 6 Tennessee 4-0

ATHENS, Ga. — The No. 1 Georgia women's tennis team (12-1, 5-0 SEC) earned its fifth top 10-ranked victory of the season as it swept the No. 6 Tennessee Lady Volunteers (9-3, 3-2 SEC), 4-0, at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on Sunday.

The Bulldogs now lead the all-time series 57-9 against the Lady Volunteers, improving their win streak to 18 matches against Tennessee.
Georgia also improved its SEC regular season winning streak to 20 matches dating back to the 2021-22 season.
The Bulldogs are off to an 11-1 start in the spring for the first time since the 2020-21 season.
Georgia opened the scoring with doubles point. #25 Dasha Vidmanova and Mell Reasco struck first with a 6-3 win over Elza Tomase and Maeve Thornton on court one followed by #75 Aysegul Mert and Hayden Mulberry knocking off Saray Yli-Piipari and Conley Raidt, 6-2, on court three for the clinch.
In singles, #82 Guillermina Grant was a force on court five as she cruised past Vanesa Suarez, 6-3, 6-3 to double Georgia's lead at 2-0.
#1 Vidmanova earned her 20th victory of the season to get the Bulldogs their third point of the match following a 6-4, 1-6, 2-0 result over #8 Elza Tomase via default.
#41 Mert secured the clinch for the Bulldogs, taking a 6-2, 7-6(4) win over Thornton on court four for the sweep.
