No. 1 Bulldogs Travel to Face No. 9 LSU, No. 42 Ole Miss

ATHENS, Ga. — The No. 1 Georgia women's tennis team (12-1, 5-0 SEC) will travel for its first full road weekend of the season where it will take on No. 9 LSU (14-1, 5-0 SEC) on Friday, March 14 at 6 p.m. ET in Baton Rouge, La., followed by No. 42 Ole Miss (9-5, 2-3 SEC) on Sunday, March 16 at 2 p.m. ET in Oxford, Miss.

The No. 1 Georgia women's tennis team (12-1, 5-0 SEC) earned its fifth top 10-ranked victory of the season as it swept the No. 6 Tennessee Lady Volunteers (9-3, 3-2 SEC), 4-0, at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on Sunday. In doubles, #25 Dasha Vidmanova and Mell Reasco struck first with a 6-3 win over Elza Tomase and Maeve Thornton on court one followed by #75 Aysegul Mert and Hayden Mulberry knocking off Saray Yli-Piipari and Conley Raidt, 6-2, on court three to secure the doubles point. In singles, #82 Guillermina Grant was a force on court five as she cruised past Vanesa Suarez, 6-3, 6-3 to double Georgia's lead at 2-0. #1 Vidmanova earned her 20th victory of the season to get the Bulldogs their third point of the match following a 6-4, 1-6, 2-0 result over #8 Elza Tomase via default. #41 Mert secured the clinch for the Bulldogs, taking a 6-2, 7-6(4) win over Thornton on court four for the sweep. Georgia now leads the all-time series 57-9 against Tennessee, improving their win streak to 18 matches against the Lady Vols. The Bulldogs also improved their SEC regular season winning streak to 20 matches dating back to the 2021-22 season.Â
