No. 3 Georgia Welcomes No. 11 Auburn To Foley Field

ATHENS, Ga.-----Third-ranked Georgia continues Southeastern Conference action Friday when No. 11 Auburn visits a sold-out Foley Field. First pitch will be at 6:02 p.m. (SECN+).

Saturday's game will start at 4:02 p.m. and be televised by the SEC Network. Sunday's game begins at 1:02 p.m. (SECN+). The entire series will be available on the Georgia Bulldog Sports Network.

The Bulldogs (25-2, 4-1 SEC) opened league play with a series win over No. 23 Kentucky and then swept No. 13 Florida in Gainesville. The Tigers have won both of their SEC series 2-1, beating No. 13 Vanderbilt at home and No. 24 Kentucky in Lexington.

The Bulldogs are a consensus top five squad in year two of the Wes Johnson era. Georgia is 17-1 at home, 6-1 on the road and 2-0 at neutral sites this season. In the series history with AU that dates to 1897, the Tigers lead 152-136-3. The teams last met on the Plains in 2023 with Auburn claiming the series 2-1. The Tigers also won a series 2-1 in their last trip to Foley Field in 2021. Georgia's last series win over Auburn came in 2019 on the Plains, and the last one in Athens in 2012 (3-0). The Tigers are coached by Butch Thompson, who served as Georgia's pitching coach from 2002-05, and helped the Bulldogs advance to the College World Series in 2004.

Georgia features one of the nation's deepest lineups that leads the country in hits, runs, home runs and slugging percentage. The team's top hitters are roommates Ryland Zaborowski (.467-14-48) and Robbie Burnett (.383-13-41), and they rank one-two nationally in home runs and in the top 10 of several offensive categories. Also of note, Tre Phelps (.305-5-26) has reached base safely in all 26 games this year. Auburn has a balanced lineup with a .312 batting average, .509 slugging percentage and a .421 on base percentage.

The Bulldogs have posted a 4.97 ERA with opponents batting .228 against Georgia. Auburn has a 4.34 ERA with opponents batting .236 against the Tigers.
