Georgia Continues Competition at NCAA Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – The University of Georgia women's swimming and diving team continued competition Friday at the NCAA Division I Women's Swimming & Diving Championships at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center.
 
With one night of competition remaining, Georgia ranks 17th overall with 38 points. Virginia leads the standings with 383 points, followed by Stanford (292) and Texas (288).
 
Events
200y Freestyle – Junior Shea Furse finished 22nd in prelims with a time of 1:44.67, followed by sophomore Helena Jones in 25th place with a personal-best time of 1:44.85. Senior Duné Coetzee placed 27th at 1:45.02, with Ieva Maluka (28th – 1:45.05) and freshman Marie Landreneau (29th – 1:45.17) following behind.
100y Backstroke – Senior Eboni McCarty finished 32nd in prelims with a time of 51.95.
