Opening Tip

» Georgia is back home to host the Houston Cougars in a Friday night tilt at Stegeman Coliseum. Tip time is at 6 p.m. ET.

» The Lady Bulldogs knocked off North Carolina Central, 96-52, in Monday's season opener. Georgia's five freshmen accounted for 60 of the team's 96 points in the win.

» Georgia started two freshmen in a season opener for the first time since Kelly and Coco Miller in 1997.

» Mia Woolfolk led all Georgia rookies with 18 points and 13 rebounds. It is just the third time in program history a freshman has recorded a double-double in her debut. Janet Harris in 1981 and Christi Thomas in 2000 are the only other two to accomplish that feat.

» The 96 points scored by Georgia were the most for the team in a game in four seasons. The Lady Bulldogs tallied 97 points against Gardner-Webb to open the 2021-22 campaign.

» Georgia is in its third season under the leadership of Coach ABE. The team welcomes back six letterwinners to go with six newcomers.

» The Lady Bulldogs were the only SEC program to sign four ESPN top-100 players in this past year's signing class. Georgia's class ranked No. 16 nationally according to ESPN.

» Georgia's quartet of talented freshmen includes guards Trinity Turner (Orlando, Fla.), Indya and Summer Davis (Detroit, Mich.) and forward Mia Woolfolk (Midlothian, Va.).

» Two of Georgia's top four scorers from last season return as the senior pair of Asia Avinger and De'Mauri Flournoy lead the Lady Bulldogs. Both Avinger and Flournoy averaged over seven points per game, while Avinger ranked fifth in the SEC in assists with 4.4 per contest last season.

» Fifth-year guard Roxane Makolo helped lead USC to the NCAA Elite Eight last season before transferring to Georgia. She also helped lead Canada to its first-ever gold medal at the U16 FIBA Americas Championships.
