The Georgia Lady Bulldogs opened the 2024-25 women's basketball season with a win over the North Carolina Central Eagles, 96-52, on Monday afternoon. A dominant debut by Georgia's freshmen contributed significantly to the victory.

- Georgia started freshmen Trinity Turner and Mia Woolfolk in their win. The last time the Lady Dogs started two freshmen in a season opener was in the 1997-98 season. (Kelly Miller, Coco Miller, and Elena Vishniakova).
- Indya and Summer Davis are the first sisters to take the court together for Georgia since Kara and Kim Braxton in 2004. The Davis sisters are also the fourth set of twins to play for the Lady Dogs.
- With the Lady Dogs' victory, they extended their season opener win streak to 19, with the last opening loss coming in the 2005-06 season against No. 6 Baylor.
- Georgia went on a 9-0 run in the first quarter, extending their lead to 28-10 at the end of the quarter.
- Freshman Mia Woolfolk recorded a double-double in her debut for the Lady Dogs, leading the team in points and rebounds, with 18 and 13.
- Georgia out-rebounded North Carolina Central 34-14 in the first half and 59-27 overall.
