
WTEN: Vecic Falls in Second Round of ITF Templeton 60K Qualifying Draw

Templeton, Calif. — No. 10 seed sophomore Alexandra Vecic fell 6-2, 6-2 against No. 3 seed Hanna Chang in the second round of the qualifying draw at the ITF Templeton 60K on Tuesday.
Vecic, who served as the Georgia women's tennis team's sole representative at the competition, came off a first round victory in the qualifying draw against Rasheeda McAdoo. The result marks her first loss in singles play this season as she now sits at 4-1 on the season.
Despite the loss, Vecic still dons a winning record across all courts under ITF competitions. The Singen, Germany-native currently ranks 618 in the ITF Singles Rankings, holds a 55 percent win rate, and owns a 23-15 record in ITF, WTA, and Billie Jean King Cup professional events.
Vecic, along with the Georgia women's tennis team, now shift focus to the ITA All-American Championships which will take place from Sept. 30-Oct. 8 in Cary, N.C.
