
Six Bulldogs Set to Compete at ITA All-American Championships

Athens, Ga. — Six Bulldogs are set to represent the Georgia women's tennis team at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American Championships starting on Saturday at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.
"We have got a couple tournaments under our belt now and are excited to continue testing ourselves against the top competition in the country," said head coach Drake Bernstein. "All of our players have some specifics they are working on whether it be mentally or physically and there is no better tournament to challenge us than the All-American Championships."
The squad consisting of juniors Dasha Vidmanova, Mai Nirundorn and Guillermina Grant, sophomore Anastasiia Lopata and freshmen Gracie Epps and Aysegul Mert will start off in different stages of the competition for both singles and doubles.
In singles play, Grant, Mert, Epps and Nirundorn will all begin in the pre-qualifying draw starting on Saturday. Lopata will open once play reaches the qualifying draw round on Monday, Oct. 2 while Vidmanova begins in the main draw starting Thursday, Oct. 5.
On the doubles side, the tandem of Mert and Vidmanova will take the court in the qualifying draw while the duo of Nirundorn and Grant open up in the main draw.
"We will look to bring a competitive energy and togetherness tomorrow to start this long tournament off on the right foot," said Bernstein.
