QUICK HITS
32-Time SEC Champions
With the Bulldogs' win against No. 20 Florida in Gainesville on Sunday, Georgia clinched at least a share of the regular season Southeastern Conference Championship for the 32nd time in program history, which leads the SEC. Georgia can clinch the outright regular season SEC Championship with wins in its home matches against No. 12 Mississippi State and No. 25 Ole Miss this week.
Georgia will travel to Auburn, Ala. to compete in the SEC Tournament which begins on Thursday, April 20. With their 10-0 SEC record, the Bulldog's have already locked up a double bye until the quarterfinals on Friday. If the Bulldog's win one of the two matches this week, they will be a one seed in the tournament. Should the team wins both matches, they would also go undefeated in SEC play for the first since 2016.
Senior Day Saturday
The team will celebrate the final home regular season match for the team's five fifth-year seniors – Trent Bryde, Blake Croyder, Teodor Giusca, Philip Henning and Britton Johnston. The players have a combined 615 wins in both singles and doubles between them across their careers.
Bryde holds a career record of 70-55 in singles and 71-50 in doubles. He is currently setting his career best in single season wins in both competitions with 19 wins each. The Suwannee native holds a career high ranking of 12 in singles, reaching the mark three different times, and five in doubles. When asked to describe himself in one word, Bryde responded with passionate, saying that he takes the most pride in representing the "G" and allows the idea of playing for this program to bring the most out of him. Bryde will graduate with a degree in consumer economics in May.
Croyder, who grew up in Marietta and graduated from Johnson Ferry Academy, chose to attend Georgia because of the program's history and the support of the fans. He is currently tied with Eddie Jacques for 21st on the career combined wins list with 182 and needs one more win in singles to reach 100 in his career. Croyder's favorite tennis memory was earning the match-clinching win at No. 20 Florida that allowed the team to win its 32nd SEC championship. He will graduate with a Master of Science degree in financial planning.
Giusca joined the team this past year after playing for four years at Clemson. The graduate student chose Georgia for his final year of eligibility because he wanted to compete for championships and because it is one of the most respected programs in the country. The Bucharest, Romania native is the winner of 82 singles matches and 66 doubles matches during his five-year career. Giusca said his parents are his biggest inspiration due to all the sacrifices they made to help him to reach this point of his career. He will graduate in May with a master's degree in business analytics.
Henning is one of the winningest Bulldogs in program history with 98 career singles wins and 86 in doubles, tied with Hisham Hemda for the 18th-most in program history, for a combined total of 184, which ties him with Bobby Mariencheck for 19th on the career combined wins list. He holds career-best rankings of eight in singles and 14 in doubles and has primarily played on court two in both competitions in his collegiate career. The Bloemfontein, South Africa native listed one of his favorite memories at Georgia as clinching the team's 4-0 win over Ohio State. Henning will graduate with a bachelor's degree in computer science.
Johnston is one of three seniors to grow up in Georgia. He is native to Snellville and an alumnus of William and Reed Academy, being listed as the top recruit in the state and top 10 in the nation. Johnston first appeared in the doubles rankings with Croyder in fall at No. 55 after going 5-1 to start the year. Together, the two have clinched the doubles point for the team three times and are 16-11 on the year. He choose to become a Bulldog because he wanted to be a part of a legendary program and fell in love with the city of Athens. Johnston will graduate with a bachelor's degree in consumer economics.

Diaz's Details
On playing Mississippi State in a Top 15 matchup after scheduling changes…
"Just a big challenge for everyone with the day and time changes and all the things that we're having to deal with obviously," said head coach Manny Diaz. "We've got to do our job and be prepared and get up for this huge match. We're playing once again for a conference title, that we're sure to tie but don't really want to share. It'll be a different type of challenge but one we must really get after."
On the Ole Miss Senior Day match…
"I'm hoping for good weather and hoping to get maybe some of the football G-Day crowd to come by Dan Magill Tennis Complex and really witness a great match. Ole Miss is an outstanding team, and our seniors are very deserving of a great crowd for this last home regular season match."
On the possibility of first perfect SEC record since 2016…
"It would be a great accomplishment. Nothing more than that, just a standing goal that these guys continue to pursue. With everyone in our conference already with two losses and us being undefeated, that speaks volumes of what these guys have gone through not only on the road but also big challenges at home against top five, top six teams in the country."
