Recapping Action
Georgia swept No. 24 Texas A&M on the road last week, the Bulldogs' first SEC road sweep since 2016 (at Missouri). Georgia set the tone with a four-run first in the opener; however, costly errors allowed the Aggies to bounce back and take a 5-4 lead. Georgia recouped to score in the fifth, sixth, and seventh to take the opener 7-5. Saturday's game was a battle as Georgia would take a lead and Texas A&M would answer back immediately. Down 5-4 in the top of the seventh, freshman Jaydyn Goodwin provided a two-run double to lift Georgia to the series win. The Bulldogs slugged their way to an 8-0 run rule in the finale behind a one-hit shutout from Madison Kerpics in the circle.

A Look at What's Ahead
Georgia welcomes Mississippi State for a three-game SEC series beginning this Friday, March 24. The Battle of the Bulldogs will continue Saturday at noon on SEC Network. The series finale is set for Sunday at 2 p.m. UGA then hosts Alabama State in midweek action next Wednesday.

The Dogs Can Swing It
Georgia is currently slugging its way to the top of the SEC, leading the league with a .609 team slugging percentage. Additionally, UGA leads the Conference with 48 home runs, 13 triples, and 51 doubles.

Bulldogs Start SEC Play Strong
Georgia's most recent 5-1 start was in 2018. That season, Georgia went on to go 7-2 through three series. The Bulldogs opened the 2013 SEC schedule 6-0 before being swept in week three. Georgia's best-ever start to SEC play was in 2005 when the Bulldogs went 13-0 en route to an SEC Championship. This season's five-game SEC win streak is the best since 2019. The last time Georgia won six straight was 2013 when the Bulldogs did it twice.

Goodwin Shines in Texas A&M Series
Freshman Jaydyn Goodwin was a key member in Georgia's series sweep of Texas A&M. Down 5-4 in the seventh inning of game two, Goodwin provided a one-out single to plate two runs and put Georgia back in front 6-5. The hit proved to be the game-winning hit, allowing Georgia to clinch the series. She drove five of Georgia's eight runs in the finale, first putting the Bulldogs on the board with a three-run home run in the opening frame, then driving in two more with a double to left center in the sixth to bring Georgia's lead to 8-0. Her five RBI were a season best. Her seven RBI were a team best in the series.
