Kaila Jackson Named SEC T&F Freshman Of The Week

ATHENS, Ga. --- Lady Bulldog freshman sprinter Kaila Jackson has been named the Southeastern Conference Women's Freshman of the Week, according to announcement Tuesday.

Jackson, a native of Redford, Mich., made her collegiate debut in the 200-meter dash at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational over the weekend in Albuquerque, N.M., which is also the site of this year's NCAA Indoor Championships. She finished with the nation's top time for a freshman in 2023 (an altitude adjusted 23.45 from her actual time of 23.38), a mark which ranks 14^th on the current national list. Jackson's finish sits No. 5 on the school's all-time top-10 list.

Fellow Bulldog sprinter Matthew Boling was named the league's Men's Co-Runner of the Week following the opener on Jan. 13-14.

Up Next: Georgia returns to the road for the Texas Tech Open + Multis in Lubbock, Texas. The combined event competitions will run Thursday and Friday while the open events are scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
