ATHENS, Ga. – Following four victories last Saturday against South Carolina, senior Zoie Hartman was named the Southeastern Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week, as announced by the league office in Birmingham Tuesday afternoon.
Hartman helped No. 9 Georgia (6-2, 2-2 SEC) return to the win column with a 181-119 victory at No. 24 South Carolina. The Danville, California native opened the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay, posting a breaststroke split of 28.18 in the event. She followed it up with a winning B-cut time of 1:01.15 in the 100 breaststroke, followed by a first-place time of 2:14.36 in the 200 breaststroke. She closed the meet with a win in the 200 IM, finishing first with a time of 2:01.10.
Hartman's award is the fourth of the season for Georgia, following junior Meghan Wenzel's Diver of the Week honor on Oct. 4 and senior Ian Grum and sophomore Abby McCulloh's Swimmer of the Week accolades on Nov. 1. For Hartman, this is her sixth career SEC Swimmer of the Week honor.
Georgia remains on the road to face Tennessee this Saturday in Knoxville at 11 a.m. The Bulldogs return home for a Senior Day meet against Emory on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 11 a.m.
