Bae, Don Produce Stellar Results

ATHENS, Ga. — The play of Jenny Bae and Caterina Don highlighted a strong set of results by members of the Georgia women's golf team last week. Bae helped Georgia win the Southeastern Challenge Match, while Don earned a bronze medal at the World University Golf Championships.

Bae earned 2.5 points to help Georgia win the challenge match, a competition between teams from Georgia, Florida and Alabama on Sunday and Monday. Georgia compiled 26.5 points, to outdistance Florida with 20.5 points and Alabama with 16. Bae teamed with Kate Song to earn a point with a 5-and-4 four-ball victory over Alabama's duo of Hannah Pope and Lauren Gilchrist. Bae and Song also took 1.5 points in foursomes competition, securing a 3-and-1 victory over the Alabama tandem of former Bulldog Zoë Walker and Emma Pittman and halving their match with Florida's Kailyn Crownover and Kelli Pry. In three-ball singles, Bae topped Pope for yet another point.

Don finished third individually in the World University Championship in Torino, Italy, last week. The Pinerolo, Italy, native fired a 3-under 285 tally at Royal Park Roveri Golf Club. Georgia teammate Candice Mahé represented France in the 72-hole event, tying for 22nd on the individual leaderboard. In the team competition, Italy finished sixth and France was ninth among the 12 competing countries.

Jo Hua Hung shot 149 to finish 17th in stroke play qualifying at the Women's Western Am. She then defeated Natasha Kiel, 2-and-1, in the opening round of match play before dropping a 3-and-2 decision to Rianne Mikhaela Malixi in the round of 16.

A trio of Bulldogs recorded top-30 finishes in different events. Céleste Dao tied for 23rd at the Canadian Women's Amateur, Carolina Craig tied for 26th at the Tennessee Women's Open and LoraLie Cowart tied for 27th at the Sea Island Amateur.

Isabella Holpfer rounded out the Georgia golfers in action last week. She represented Austria in the European Ladies Amateur Championship, where she shot 226 over 54 holes.
