Frazier and Ogbeide to meet in championship series in Turkey

ATHENS, Ga. — A number of former Georgia Bulldogs have played professionally on the international level this season, with at least four guaranteed to win titles. Nemi Djurisic, Rayshaun Hammonds and Mike Edwards all helped their teams capture regular-season and/or playoff titles in their respective countries in Europe. Beginning this weekend, former UGA teammates J.J. Frazier and Derek Ogbeide will face off in the finals of Turkey's TBL playoffs.

A review of each player's season to date has been compiled below.

Nemanja "Nemi" Djurisic has scored 293 points (8.6 ppg) for Estudiantes Madrid in Spain during the 2021-22 season. Djurisic has played in 34 games, averaging  21.7 minute per outing, and has recorded 11 double-figure scoring games, with a season-high 27 points against Almansa. Estudiantes Madrid finished tied atop Spain's LEB Gold standings with a 26-9 regular-season record and has advanced to the semifinals of the playoffs.
 
Mike Edwards began the 2021-22 season playing for Dinamo V. in Russia-Superleauge 1, but moved to Trepeca in Kosovo in March. While playing for Dinamo, Edwards totaled 288 minutes and notched 146 points (11.2 ppg). With Trepeca, his playing time totaled 302 minutes, 20.1 per game. He posted 129 points (8.6 ppg), including seven double-digit scoring games, and put up a season high of 32 against Prizreni-16. Edwards grabbed 105 rebounds (7.0 rpg). Trepeca finished atop Kosovo's Superliga with a 19-9 record and reached the finals of the playoffs.
 
John Florveus began the season playing for Prat in Spain's LEB Gold league, before moving on to Ovarense in Portugal-Liga Betclic. He ended his 2021-22 season with Bashkimi Prizren in Kosovos's Superliga. With Bashkimi, Florveus played in 13 games, clocking 397 minutes and averaging 30.5 per game. He totaled 183 points (14.1 ppg), with a season high of 20 against Drita. Bashkimi wrapped up the season sixth in Kosovo's Superliga with a 12-16 record.
 
J.J Frazier has played in 34 games with Samsun BSB Anakent in Turkey. He has logged 1,040 minutes of playing time, averaging 30.6 each game. Frazier has scored 611 points, (18.0 ppg), with a season high of 33 points against Fethiye. He connected on 140-of-161 free throw attempts, 87.0 percent. Frazier's 3-point field goal percentage is 40.4, connecting on 63-of-156 shots from behind the arc. Samsun finished second in Turkey's TBL with a 23-7 record and has advanced to playoff's championship round, which begin this Friday.
 
Rayshaun Hammonds played in 26 regular-season games, eight playoff outings and five in the European Champions League contests for VEF Riga in Latvia. During the regular season, he earned 476 minutes of playing time, averaging 18.3 per game, and totaled 274 points (10.5 ppg) and 182 rebounds (7.0 rpg). VEF Riga finished atop the Lat-Est BL standings with a 23-3 record and also went on to win the playoffs as well. Hammonds enjoyed one of his best games of the season during the championship series, scoring 25 points and grabbing 10 rebounds against Ventspils.
 
Jordan Harris played the 2021-22 season for Glasgow Rocks in the United Kingdom. During the regular season, he logged 944 total minutes in 30 games, averaging 31.5 minutes per game. He scored 529 points (17.6 ppg), grabbed 153 rebounds (5.1 rpg) and had 105 assists (3.5 apg). In the U.K. BBL Cup, Harris played 328 minutes in 11 games and scored 129 points (11.7 ppg). Glasgow Rocks finished seventh in the BBL standings with a 12-15 record but then advanced to the championship round of the playoffs.
 
Travis Leslie saw action in nine games for Coosur Real Betis Sevilla in Spain. He played a total 218 minutes, averaging 24.2 minutes per game. He also recorded 68 points (7.6 ppg), 52 rebounds (5.8 rpg) and 11 steals (1.2 spg). Real Betis finished 13th in the LIga Endesa standings with a record of 13-21.
 
Yante Maten played his first game for Hapoel Sp Tel-Aviv in Israel in April. Previously, he played for DB Promy in South Korea. In his first and only game for Hapoel Tel Aviv, he had five minutes of playing time. For DB Promy, he played a total of 137 minutes, averaging 17.1 minutes over eight games. He had 50 rebounds, averaging 6.3 per game. Hapoel Tel Aviv is ranked seventh in the Israeli Winner League standings with a 14-13 record. DB Promy is ranked eighth with their 23-31 record in the KBL.
 
Derek Ogbeide has played in 23 regular season games for Konyaspor in Turkey since January. He scored 309 total points (13.4 ppg) during his 567 total minutes played (24.7 mpg). He had a season high of 24 points against Balikesir. In seven European Champions League contests, Ogbeide averaged 3.1 points and 11.7 minutes. Konyaspor finished third in Turkey's TBL standings with their 22-8 record and has reached the championships of the playoffs, where he will face off against former Georgia teammate J.J. Frazier starting this weekend.
 
Gerald Robinson began playing for Banco di Sardegna Sassari in Italy in December. Since then, he has played in 28 games, averaging 27.9 minutes and 13.6 points. He also totaled 198 assists (7.1 apg) and 55 steals (2.0 spg). Out of 22 double-figure scoring games, Robinson had a season high of 22 against Trento. Sassari is ranked fifth in Italy's Serie A standings with a record of 17-13 and reached the semifinals of the playoffs before falling to Milano.
 
Trey Thompkins, who plays for Real Madrid in Spain, averaged 18.7 minutes and 5.3 points per game during the Liga Endesa regular season. In 13 Euroleague contests, Thompkins averaged 13.5 minutes and 5.7 points per game. Real Madrid finished second in the Liga Endesa standings at 25-9 and fourth in the Euroleague standings with a record of 18-10.
 
Dustin Ware played for Champagne Chalons-Reims in France during the 2022 season. In 16 games since January, he earned 309 minutes playing time (11.9 mpg), scored points (7.4 ppg) and handed out 56 assists (3.5 apg). Ware connected 93.3 percent of his trips to the free throw line. Out of five double-figure scoring games, he earned a season high of 20 points against Monaco. Chalons-Reims posted a 10-24 record in the Elite ProA standings.
 
Terrance Woodbury saw action in 51 games for Kagawa FA in Japan this season. He played 1,545 minutes (30.2 mpg), scored 1,160 points (22.7 ppg), grabbed 335 rebounds (6.6 rpg) and delivered 240 assists (4.7 apg), while shooting 85.2 percent from the line. Woodbury scored a season high of 38 points against Ehime OV. Kagawa FA finished first in the West B2 standings with a record of 36-16 and reached the semifinals of the playoffs.
