ATHENS, Ga. — Marcus "Smurf" Millender, who became just the ninth player in Georgia Basketball history to have 100 assists and 50 3-pointers in the same season, has signed to remain with the Bulldogs during the 2026-27 season.

Millender, a 5-11, guard averaged 12.0 points and a team-high 4.0 assists per game while helping Georgia to a 22-11 record and a second straight NCAA Tournament bid. He upped his production in SEC play to 12.9 points per game. Among SEC leaders, Millender ranked No. 8 in assists (4.1 apg) and No. 10 in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.33). He also led the Bulldogs in 3-point percentage (.386), knocking down 61 of 158 shots from behind the arc.

Millender notched 23 double-figure scoring outputs in 33 games played, with a pair of 20-point performances for Georgia during his junior season. He led the Bulldogs in assists in 18 games. Millender recorded season highs of 24 points against Auburn, eight assists (with just one turnover) at Kentucky and four steals versus Tennessee Tech.

Millender displayed a flair for the dramatic. He knocked down a pair of game-winning shots for the Bulldogs – a 3-pointer with 9.9 seconds left against Xavier in the Shriners Children's Charleston Classic on Nov. 21 and a three-point play with 5.5 seconds remaining at Missouri on Jan. 20. On Nov. 29 – his 21st birthday – against Tennessee Tech, he scored 22 points, dished out seven assists and recorded four steals. At Texas on Jan. 24, the Houston native recorded the 1,000th point of his collegiate career with approximately 30 family and friends on hand for his return to the Lone Star State.

Georgia recorded 22 regular-season wins during the 2025-26 season, the most in school history, while also breaking program records for total points (2,951) and scoring average (89.4 ppg). The Bulldogs have now posted three consecutive 20-win seasons, just the third time in 121 seasons Georgia has done so.
