Georgia Men’s Tennis to Participate in Georgia Tech Invitational

ATHENS, Ga. – The Georgia men's tennis team will travel to Atlanta this weekend for its final fall event, playing in the Georgia Tech Invitational at the Byers Tennis Complex, set to begin on November 4 with the final day of the event being played on Sunday, November 6.
Along with the Bulldogs, players from host Georgia Tech, Miami, Middle Tennessee State, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt and Yale will play in a round robin-style format.
Teodor Giusca and Britton Johnston will open play for Georgia on Friday at 10 a.m. ET, taking on Nikola Slavic and Lukas Engelhardt from Ole Miss on court six. On court 10, Thomas Paulsell and Miguel Perez Peña will compete against Yale's Renaud Lefevre and Michael Sun, also at 10 a.m.
In singles, Georgia will have four players playing follow the completion of doubles. Giusca faces off against Georgia Tech's Andres Martin, who was the Yellow Jacket's choice at the top spot last season. On court two, Johnston also takes on a Georgia Tech adversary in Elias Shokry, who played predominately at the third position last season but saw time at the two as well.
Following the completion of the first set of matches, Perez Peña will compete against Vanderbilt's number two last season, Joubert Klopper. Paulsell will also take on a Commodore opponent in Jeremie Casabon, who finished the year with a 11-12 record.
Doubles will be played in an eight-game pro set format, with no-ad scoring and a tiebreaker at 7-7, while singles will be in a best of three set format with no-ad scoring.
Scores will be posted to the tournament central homepage on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association website. Live streaming can be found on the Playsight App.
