ATLANTA – The Georgia Bulldogs concluded their fall schedule on the final day of the Georgia Tech Invitational at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex on Sunday with Britton Johnston finishing the weekend going a perfect 3-0 in singles.

Johnston, a senior, finishes the fall with a 4-5 record. He ended the weekend with a thrilling three-set battle against Yale's Michael Sun, claiming the win by a 6-4, 4-6, 7-6(8) score. Johnston picked up victories during the three-day event against Sun, Elias Shokry (Georgia Tech) and Shu Matsuoka (Middle Tennessee State).

Johnston led the way for the Bulldogs this weekend, as the team finished the event with a 7-5 record in singles. The senior was the lone athlete to earn a win on the final day of competition in Atlanta.

Teodor Giusca was unable to defeat Nikola Slavic of Ole Miss, falling in straight sets by a 6-2, 6-1 score to finish the fall with an 8-5 record. Sophomore Miguel Perez Peña finished the weekend with two wins and a loss after dropping his match to Yale's Theo Dean in a 6-3, 7-5 result. Fellow sophomore Thomas Paulsell ended the fall campaign with a 6-5 record, dropping his final match to Luke Neal of Yale in a three-set decision by a 2-6, 6-3, 4-6 score.

Georgia was unable to pick up a win in doubles on Sunday. Giusca and Johnston fell to Marcus McDaniel and Elias Shokry of Georgia Tech 8-5, while Paulsell and Perez Peña dropped their match to Yale's Dean and Aidan Reilly in a narrow 8-7(6) result.

The Bulldogs now await the start of their 2023 spring dual season, with the team's first match coming against the Florida State Seminoles in Tallahassee, Fla. on January 15, 2023.
