ATHENS, Ga. — Head coach Josh Brewer has ensured a bright future for Georgia women's golf, inking a trio of junior standouts to letters-of-intent to play collegiately for the Bulldogs during the NCAA's early signing period. Savannah de Bock, Celine Sanne and Natachanok "Drive" Tunwannarux (pronounced Nuh-tah-nuh-chah-nook Ton-wanna-rux) will join the Bulldogs' roster in the fall of 2023.

"As a group, we expect them to be a major staple of the program and continue to build upon the rich tradition of Georgia Golf," Brewer said. "Also, we're excited because the class is not done. We look forward to adding one or two more pieces down the road."

De Bock, who is from Belgium, is currently No. 60 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings and has enjoyed a stellar season during the 2022 calendar. She captured three victories this year, headlined by earning medalist honors at the European Ladies Amateur Championship in July. De Bock also won the Belgian International Amateur and Royal Belgian Golf Federation's King's Prize tournament. Since 2020, she has competed in 46 WAGR events, including the AIG Women's Open and World Amateur Team Championship in 2022, and recorded six wins and 23 top-10 finishes.

"Savannah is a wonderful player for us to sign and continue the tradition of top European players coming to Georgia after she won the European stroke play this summer," Brewer said. "Savannah has an amazing energy, both as a person and as a player. It should be fun to carry the torch going forward of a top-ranked player signing with us."

The competitive resume of Sanne, who is from Norway, also includes a plethora of WAGR tournaments over the past five years. In 48 starts, Sanne has recorded eight wins and 26 top-10 finishes. Four of her victories came during 2022, with titles at the three Srixon Tour events and a Garmin Norgescup tournament. Sanne represented Norway at the 2021 European Girls Team Championship.

"Celine has played a lot of lower-level professional events and had a lot of success," Brewer said. "She's won consistently in those tournaments and brings an amazing resume as far as competing above the amateur level and having success. We're confident that experience has prepared her for the transition to college golf."

Tunwannarux, who hails from Thailand, has competed extensively in Asia since 2018 and now attends the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. All told, she has recorded 12 victories and 49 top-10 finishes in 55 WAGR events over the past five years. During 2021, Tunwannarux recorded a quartet of top-5 finishes in four tournaments in the U.S. She won both the IMG Academy Junior World Florida Challenge and the FCG International Junior Championship and also finished four that the IMG Academy Junior World Championship and fifth at the FCG Callaway World Championship.

"Drive has been the longest committed player in the class," Brewer said. "It's been four years coming since she decided she wanted to be a Bulldog. She committed at a very young age, and we've enjoyed watching her continue to develop. Drive has been the No. 1-ranked junior in Thailand for over three years now and now is finishing up at IMG Academy. I'd like to say a special thank you to her and her family for the process. It's fun to finally officially make her a Bulldog."

Georgia has long been one of college golf's premier women's programs. The Bulldogs sports four national titles – one team (in 2001) and three individual (Terri Moody in 1980, Cindy Schreyer in 1984 and Vicki Goetze in 1992).

On the team front, Georgia has finished among the top 20 schools at the national championships during 28 of the last 44 years – 21 of those in the top 10. Last spring, the Bulldogs tied for fifth at the NCAA Championships after dropping a 3-2 decision to Stanford in the matchup play quarterfinals

Individually, Georgia golfers have posted 38 top-20 individual finishes at nationals, including Jenny Bae and Candice Mahé tying for sixth in 2022. Thirty-four Bulldog golfers have been named All-America a combined 61 times, a list that features current golfers Bae and Caterina Don.
