GREENSBORO, N.C. – Sophomore Zoie Hartman's second-place performance in the 200 IM highlighted the second day of competition for the University of Georgia women's swimming and diving team at the 2021 NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships Thursday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

Through two days of competition, Georgia stands seventh overall with 85 points. Virginia sits atop the standings with 184 points, followed by NC State at 124 and Texas with 119.

Posting a season-best time of 1:53.84, Hartman was the runner-up in the 200 IM, finishing over two seconds behind national champion Alex Walsh of Virginia. She is the first Bulldog to finish in the top-four in the event since Melanie Margalis placed second in 2014. Hartman also earned two additional All-America citations Thursday with 11th-place finishes in both the 200 freestyle relay and 400 medley relay.

Senior Courtney Harnish earned her second-consecutive First Team citation in the 500 freestyle, placing eighth with a time of 4:41.33. With three citations in this year's meet, Harnish has now amassed 13 plaudits in her career. Virginia's Paige Madden finished first in the event with a time of 4:33.61.

In addition to swimming leadoff in the 200 free relay and anchor in the 400 medley relay, freshman Maxine Parker picked up her first individual All-America berth with a 12th-place finish in the 50 freestyle. Parker placed fourth in the consolation final with a time of 21.96. Virginia's Kate Douglass won the A final with a time of 21.13.

In other results, California prevailed in the 200 freestyle relay, NC State won the 400 medley relay, and Minnesota's Sarah Bacon took first in the 1-meter diving competition.
