Georgia Faces Auburn on the Road

ATHENS, Ga. – The University of Georgia soccer team continues on the road this weekend as they head to Auburn, Ala. to seek redemption against the Auburn Tigers. The match will kick off at 2 p.m. ET at the Auburn Soccer Complex.
With a full Southeastern Conference schedule played in the fall, Saturday's match will be considered non-conference.
This will be the third time the two teams have met this season, with Auburn leading the series against Georgia 2-0.
They last played each other in the first round of the SEC Tournament, where Georgia lost in double overtime.
Prior to the SEC tournament, Auburn beat Georgia at the Turner Soccer Complex in October off a penalty kick in the 57th minute of the game.
Last weekend, the Bulldogs (3-5-2) fell 3-1 to the Ole Miss Rebels. Senior Mollie Belisle recorded three shots and scored the lone goal for Georgia. It was assisted by Madison Haugen, who had two shots on the day.
With a conference only schedule, Georgia finished the fall 2020 season with a 2-4-2 record. The Bulldogs started off the season 2-0-2, marking their best SEC play since 2010 and earning them a spot on the United Soccer Coaches Poll Rankings for five weeks. Ranked eighth initially, it was the first time the program has been ranked since 2014.
Since starting spring play, Auburn (5-5-3) has gone 1-1-1, defeating Kennesaw State 5-0, tying LSU 0-0 and falling 1-0 to No. 9 Clemson last weekend. They finished their fall 4-4-2 against an all-SEC slate.
