Walsh Posts Top-10 Time as Last Chance Concludes

ATHENS, Ga. – The University of Georgia swimming and diving team completed its regular season with the second day of competition at the Bulldog Invitational Last Chance Meet Sunday at Gabrielsen Natatorium.
In the day's final race, junior Keegan Walsh clinched a spot at the NCAA Championships with a personal-best time of 1:41.16 in the 200 backstroke. Joined in the event by teammate Bradley Dunham, Walsh's B-cut is the sixth-fastest time in school history and 13th-fastest mark in the nation. It also marked the second time this week that Walsh had turned in a new PR in the event, following a 1:42.34 in prelims at the SEC Championships.
In other action, freshman Sloane Reinstein posted a B-cut in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:46.29. Junior Caleb Harrington turned in a season-best time of 1:46.87 in the 200 butterfly, while sophomore Riley Scruggs notched his third PR of the weekend with a time of 44.29 in the 100 freestyle.
Georgia will now turn its attention toward the NCAA Championships, with each event occurring in Greensboro, North Carolina, beginning with the Zone B Diving Championships on March 7-9. The women's meet will be held on March 17-20, followed by the men's meet on March 24-27. Women's qualifiers will be announced on Wednesday, March 3 with men's qualifiers being released one week later on March 10.
