QUICK KICKS
Series History
Thursday's match is the 28th all-time meeting between Georgia and Vanderbilt, with the Commodores leading the series, 14-12-1. In matches played in Athens, Vanderbilt holds a 6-5 advantage. Last season, the Commodores prevailed, 1-0, on Oct. 25, 2020, in Nashville.

The Final Countdown
Georgia and Vanderbilt meet in the regular season finale, with both teams looking to clinch an SEC Tournament first-round bye with a victory. For Georgia, it would be their first bye in a 10-team field since 2013. The Bulldogs can also clinch a first-round bye with a tie and an Alabama loss to Auburn. Both teams remain in contention as well for the SEC East division title, which would be the first in program history for Georgia.

The divisional scenarios for Georgia are as follows:
  • Georgia win & Tennessee loss: Georgia wins outright or shares if South Carolina defeats Florida. Georgia wins the tiebreaker for the No. 2 seed with more points than South Carolina against common SEC opponents.
  • Georgia win & Tennessee tie: Georgia and Tennessee share title with Tennessee winning the tiebreaker for the No. 2 seed. If South Carolina beats Florida, Tennessee also wins the three-way tiebreaker with wins over both teams.
Depending on the results of Thursday's matches, Georgia will be seeded either second or between fourth and eighth. With a bye, the Bulldogs will play in one of four quarterfinal matches on Tuesday, Nov. 2. Otherwise, they will play in a first-round match on Sunday, Oct. 31 at either 2 p.m. EDT or 4:30 p.m. EDT.

Belisle's Career Year
Graduate forward Mollie Belisle continued her outstanding season with a four-point effort against Florida. Currently, Belisle is tied with Arizona State's Nicole Douglas and St. John's Zsani Kajan for first nationally with 15 goals and ranks sixth in points with 33. With her current single-season totals, Belisle ranks fourth in school history in goals (15), third in shots (78), and fourth in points (33). She is also only the fourth player in program history to post five multi-goal performances in a season, having already tallied five. With four more goals, Belisle would set single-season records in both goals and points.

Murguia Nearing History
With an assist against Florida, senior midfielder Dani Murguia upped her season total to 11, ranking her sixth nationally. She is only third Bulldog to ever post double-digit assists in a season and is tied for Suzannah Weathersbee's single-season record in 1996. Additionally, with one more point, Murguia will join Mollie Belisle as the first Georgia teammates to both post 30 points in a single season.

Stoute Returns
After being issued a red card in the 64th minute of the Florida match, senior defender Cecily Stoute was unavailable against Tennessee, but will return for tonight's match. Stoute has played and started in 66 games, with only one previous absence in her career.

Winning Season Sealed
With the Kentucky victory, Georgia reached double-digit wins for the first time in head coach Billy Lesesne's tenure, as well as guaranteed a .500+ season for the second time in three years. This season's 11 wins are the most for Georgia since 2013, when the Bulldogs finished 12-7-1.

Nation's Top Trio
Powered by one of the nation's top scorers, the trio of graduate forward Mollie Belisle (15), senior midfielder Dani Murguia (9), and freshman forward Danielle Lewin (7) rank second nationally among trios with 31 total goals, one behind first-place BYU (32).

Ranking Report
Following last week's draw at South Carolina, Georgia remained at No. 6 in the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Southeast Region rankings for the fourth-consecutive week, while not receiving any votes for the national poll. The Bulldogs remained No. 47 in the newest RPI rankings, making them the sixth-highest ranked SEC squad.
