MEET NOTES

ATHENS, Ga.  ---
The No. 11 Georgia GymDogs are set to face the No. 5 LSU Tigers on Friday, January 22 at 8:15 p.m. ET at the Maravich Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The meet will be streamed live on the SEC Network +.

HISTORY AGAINST LSU
The GymDogs hold a 69-38-2 record against the Tigers. LSU beat Georgia last season in Athens.

GYMDOGS SHOW RESILIENCY AT FLORIDA
During a meet that sustained numerous lineup changes, the Georgia GymDogs showed resiliency and stepped up to perform.

Following the meet, head coach Courtney Kupets Carter said:
"I cannot be more proud of this team for their resilience throughout the whole meet. Many lineup changes were needed in the middle of competition and they answered well. We saw improvements in our vault scores and even bigger ones on floor. This is always a big meet for Rachel Baumann and she kept her head in the game and improved on every event from last week. Megan Roberts really stepped up and performed all-around. A meet like this is what is going to take us from being a good team to a great team as we continue to grow and improve on the little things. We will get back to the gym and keep working, but overall I'm really proud of this team."

NEW ALL-AROUND COMPETITORS
Junior Megan Roberts and sophomore Haley de Jong both competed all-around for the first time in their Georgia career. De Jong took home the all-around title with a 39.175 and Roberts followed with a 39.150, both beating out two Florida gymnasts.

NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK
Freshman Victoria Nguyen competed all-around in her first competition as a GymDog.  She recorded an overall score of 39.400 after notching a 9.750 on vault, a meet-high 9.950 on bars, a 9.850 on beam, and a 9.850 on floor.

The Houston, Texas native's bars score was the highest in the nation after the first meet.
