Six Georgia Riders Receive All-SEC Recognition

ATHENS, Ga. --- Six riders on the University of Georgia equestrian team have received All-SEC recognition, the Southeastern Conference announced Thursday.
Senior Ali Tritschler garnered All-SEC awards for both Fences and Flat, while senior Grace Bridges was recognized for Flat. Junior Jordan Carpenter received the honors for Reining.
Tritschler, a native of Southport, Conn., rode to a 9-4 record in Fences and 7-3-2 mark in Flat for a total of 16 points for the Bulldogs this season. She won a combined 5 Most Outstanding Performance honors, two of which came on the road. She earned a team season-high score of 92 in Fences, and topped that with a 93 in Flat. She led the Bulldogs in Fences wins this season. Most recently, she earned NCEA Second-Team All America honors in both in Fences and Flat. Additionally, she earned a spot on the NCEA All-Academic First-Team.
Bridges, a product of Eatonton, Ga., picked up NCEA All-America Honorable Mention for her rides in Flat. She rode to nine wins and one MOP honor. She scored a nearly-perfect 99 against Sweet Briar to start the season, which matches the highest Flat-score in program history.
Jordan Carpenter earned NCEA Second-Team All-America honors for Reining after earning seven wins and one MOP honor. The Monroe, Ga. native averaged a score of 70 during the 2019-20 season.
Additionally, three rookies received All-Freshman honors. Ceci Bresch and Rachel McMullen were recognized for Fences and Bresch was also awarded honors for Flat. Gracie Himes earned the honors in Horsemanship.
In her first year with the Bulldogs, Bresch competed in both Flat and Fences on the road at South Carolina and Texas A&M. The South Padre Island, Texas product earned one point in Flat for the Bulldogs with an impressive score of 97, which is the second highest score among Bulldogs this season.
McMullen, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, earned seven wins and one MOP on top of eight scores of 80 or above.
Himes, a native of Bristol, Ind., competed twice, including against SEC-opponent Texas A&M.
The SEC also announced this year's recipients of the Community Service award. Georgia's Stella Martin was recognized for her philanthropic efforts. With a passion for others, the senior from Marietta, Ga. organizes and arranges the service efforts of the team. She has personally volunteered at Butterfly Dreams Farm Therapeutic Riding Center. She prepared meals for the Athens Area Homeless Shelter and the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia. Martin has also participated in Shop with a Bulldog and is a part of the Athens-Clarke County Mentorship Program on top of volunteering with the Special Olympics. She is a shining star on the Georgia equestrian team and her desire to give back is contagious.
