No. 6 Georgia to Compete in Final Regular Season Matchup at No. 8 TCU

ATHENS, Ga. – The sixth ranked University of Georgia will compete in its final regular season competition against No. 8 Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, on Saturday.
The Bulldogs (6-5, 1-5 SEC) finished their home arena contests with a two-win weekend defeating Delaware State (15-4) and University of Tennessee at Martin (17-2) last Friday and Saturday. On Friday, all Jumping Seat riders, in both Flat and Fences, rode to scores of 83 or better. Freshman Rachel McMullen earned her first career Most Outstanding Performance (MOP) honors for her stellar score of 90 in Fences. Senior Ali Tritschler notched her fourth career MOP honor. The 15 seniors were honored at Saturday's Senior Day in a post-meet celebration. Three seniors, Maddy Darst, Kate Kramer and Annabeth Payne all received MOP honors for their rides in Flat, Fences and Reining, respectively. Sophomore Kaitlin Dierks clinched the MOP honor sweep receiving the award for her Horsemanship ride.
The National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) announced the second set of NCEA event rankings on Tuesday. Georgia's Fences squad holds the second overall ranking. In Flat, the Bulldogs claimed the fifth spot. In Western, the Horsemanship and Reining events both sit at eight.
The Frogs (5-7, 2-4 Big 12) fell to No. 4-ranked Southern Methodist University, 17-1, last Saturday on the Mustangs' home arena. In event rankings, TCU stands at No. 5 in Fences, No. 6 in Horsemanship, and No. 10 in both Flat and Reining.
The Bulldogs host the Southeastern Conference championship back in Bishop, Ga., from March 27-28. The NCEA National Championships will take place April 15-18 in Waco, Texas.
