Bulldogs to Christen Newly-Renovated Tennis Stadium on Monday, Tuesday

ATHENS, Ga. — The Georgia men's tennis team will christen the newly-renovated tennis stadium with back-to-back matches on Monday, Feb. 24, and Tuesday, Feb. 25.
First, the Bulldogs take on the FAU Owls during Monday's matchup at 2:30 p.m. Georgia is 2-0 against FAU, who is led by former Bulldog Ricardo Gonzalez of Georgia's 2007 national championship-winning team. Bulldogs head coach Manuel Diaz heads into the match with a recorded 703 career wins. Now in his 32nd year, Diaz only trails Bulldog great Dan Magill's record (706) by only three wins.
Georgia takes the courts again Tuesday in another 2:30 p.m. match against Mercer. The Bulldogs own a perfect 8-0 all-time record against the Bears.
These two matches kickstart what will be a six-match home stretch for the Bulldogs. Georgia returns Friday, Feb. 28, as the team takes on SEC foe Tennessee at 2:30 p.m. The Volunteers are coming off a 4-0 win over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

BULLDOG BITES
- Sophomore Trent Bryde is Georgia's highest-ranked player, coming in at No. 22 in ITA singles. In doubles, he and freshman Tyler Zink rank 31st.
- Bryde was also named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week on Feb. 12. He continued an impressive start to his second collegiate season with a win against Texas' No. 2-ranked Yuya Ito at the No. 1 court on Feb. 8.
- Sophomore Philip Henning, the No. 26-ranked player in the nation, leads Georgia with six wins against ranked opponents.
- In the latest ITA singles rankings, Zink came in 72nd while sophomore Blake Croyder checked in at the No. 95 spot.
- Dating back to the 2019 dual-match season, Croyder has won 13-straight singles matches. He is currently on a five-match win streak.
- Freshman Erik Grevelius leads Georgia in overall wins this season with 16. Henning follows with 15 total wins.
