ATHENS, Ga. --- The No. 12 University of Georgia soccer team is set to face Auburn on Sunday, October 18 at 6 p.m. for the team's final home game of the season.  The game will be broadcast live on SEC Network.

Georgia will celebrate its 10 seniors following the game.

BEST-EVER START TO SEC PLAY
With a 2-0-2 record to start the 2020 season, the Georgia Bulldogs are off to the program's best-ever start in SEC play.  It's the longest the Bulldogs have gone without a loss since 2010.

Additionally, it's the best overall start the Bulldogs have had since 2009, when UGA went 7-0-1 in nonconference play.

LAST GAME AGAINST AUBURN
The last time Georgia and Auburn played was during the 2018 season. Georgia fell to Auburn, 1-0 after the Tigers scored on a free kick from close to midfield in the 65th minute of the game.

LAST TIME OUT-- at Kentucky
After falling behind in the first half, then-No. 8 Georgia played to a 1-1 tie against the Kentucky Wildcats on a rainy Sunday afternoon at Wendell and Vickie Bell Stadium.

Georgia struggled to find its footing on a wet field in the first half. The team was able to get nine shots off, but none on target.  The Bulldogs had four corner kicks in the first 45 minutes, with two promising attempts coming from senior defender Kayla Bruster. Her first went high and the second hit her near post.

After a foul in the box granted the Wildcats (0-3-1) a penalty kick in the 25th minute, Kentucky took the lead with the goal from Jordyn Rhodes.

As momentum shifted in the second half, the Bulldogs were able to turn up the pressure and build on the attack.  Georgia evened the score in the 68th minute off a shot from senior Jessie Denney with assists from seniors Mollie Belisle and Ashley Andersen.  Georgia continued its relentless offense, adding 12 shots, but could not capitalize on the chances.

The rain really became a factor in overtime as the ball took deflections for both teams, despite many opportunities.  Play was very even throughout the extra 20 minutes of the game and neither team was able to put one away, resulting in the tie.

ABBY BOYAN GETS RECOGNITION
Junior midfielder Abby Boyan received conference and national recognition after scoring the lone-goal in Georgia's win over South Carolina to open the season.

Boyan was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in her career and earned a spot on the Top Drawer Team of the Week. She is the first Georgia player given a national weekly recognition since goalkeeper Louise Hogrell in 2015.

The Spring Lake, N.J. native played a full 90 minutes and contributed the game-winner for a season-opening victory for the Bulldogs. This marks the first time Georgia has beaten South Carolina since 2014. Additionally, she took three shots, which tied for the most in the game of any player.

She was placed on the Top Drawer Team of the Week again after making the difference in the game against Tennessee.  She put Georgia on the board in the 29th minute, advancing on a clearance on the top of the 18-yard-box. It was a quick two-touch hit that landed in the back of the net, resulting in a Dawgs win.

RANKED IN THE UNITED COACHES POLL
Georgia was ranked eighth in the initial United Soccer Coaches national rankings. This is the first time the Bulldogs have been ranked since 2014, when the team reached a No. 20 ranking in late September.

Due to the impact of the pandemic on fall schedules, only teams competing in the fall were considered for the polls. The number of teams appearing in each ranking is also lower due to the lower number of teams competing. The women's poll features a Top 15. There are no regional rankings.

Georgia has remained in the 8th spot until after week four, when the Bulldogs dropped to 12th.

WHAT THEY'RE SAYING ABOUT THE DAWGS
"The most talented team in top to bottom roster depth that Georgia's had since Billy's been here." - SEC Network's Michael Watts during the broadcast of the South Carolina game.

A SEASONED VET
Junior goalkeeper Emory Wegener has started more games than any other active goalkeeper in the SEC.
