
Bulldogs Start 2020 at Opening Day of Tennessee Invitational

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Highlighted by junior Zach Allen's runner-up finish in the men's 3-meter springboard, University of Georgia diving opened competition at the Tennessee Diving Invitational Friday afternoon at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center.
Allen placed second behind Auburn's Conner Pruitt with a zone-qualifying score of 368.25, his second-best mark in the event this season. Earlier in the prelims, he finished eighth with a score of 316.00
In the women's 1-meter final, senior Freida Lim led the Lady Bulldogs with a seventh-place score of 248.85. Lim was joined in the final by sophomore Ellie Crump, who placed 12th at 216.10. In the prelims, Crump posted her best score this season with a mark of 255.85. Joy Zhu of Minnesota took first in the final with a score of 313.55.
In prelims, senior McKensi Austin placed 32nd, followed by freshman Raquel Mason (38th), redshirt sophomore Ambria D'Alonzo (40th) and sophomore Kelliann Howell (45th).
The Tennessee Diving Invitational continues tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. with prelims and finals in the men's 1-meter and women's 3-meter. Live results will be available on DiveMeets.com.
